I'm an animal lover from WAY back! Most people don't know I started riding a shetland pony named "Charro" when I was about 3 years old, and that began my love for horses. My family raised quarter horses and I showed horses up until high school. I've cleaned stalls, broke horses, trained horses, cleaned hooves, and even helped one of our mares deliver her foal. That was EXCITING stuff!

Then it was off to college, marriage and kiddos! However; I'm a magnet to those magnificent animals still today! Yes, I love the smell of a barn and yes, I love the smell of leather. You just can't help it when you (basically) grow up in a barn! So, whenever I get the chance to photograph someone with their horse, I'm all in!
